DAY 01 MEXICO - MEXICO

DAY 02 MEXICO - TEOTIHUACÁN - MEXICO (100 KM)

In the morning, visit the Basilica of Guadalupe, a symbol of Christianization and the War of Independence.
Discover Teotihuacán, the fascinating "City of the Gods" of gigantic dimensions. Cross the citadel to admire the Pyramids of the Sun, the largest structure of its kind in the Americas, and the Pyramid of the Moon, surrounded by smaller pyramidal structures. Enjoy local cuisine at a restaurant near the site. To finish with a flourish, sample a local drink, pulque, made from the prickly pear cactus, and visit a workshop for carving obsidian, the shiny black volcanic stone widely used by pre-Columbian civilizations.
On your return to Mexico City, stroll through the Zócalo. Enter the Metropolitan Cathedral to admire its architecture and decoration: a blend of Renaissance, Baroque, and Neoclassical styles. Continue along Madero Street to admire the magnificent 19th-century buildings: the headquarters of the National Bank of Mexico, the Palacio de Iturbide, and the famous Casa de los Azulejos, which preserves the memory of Emiliano Zapata and the Mexican Revolution. DAY 03 MEXICO - PUEBLA (136 KM) - OAXACA (341 KM)

In the morning, depart for Puebla, the second largest city in the country, with a remarkable historical past. Take a stroll through the streets and squares of Puebla to admire its remarkable colonial center, whose facades are decorated with Talavera, the famous local ceramics. After visiting the imposing cathedral, walk up Cinco de Mayo Street to discover one of Mexico's Baroque gems, the Chapel of Our Lady of the Rosary, located in the Santo Domingo Church. In the afternoon, depart for Oaxaca, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Dinner at the hotel.
DAY 04 OAXACA - MONTE ALBAN (11 KM)

Visit to the archaeological site of Monte Albán. For over 1,500 years, the Olmec, Zapotec, and Mixtec people inhabited this site.
Return to Oaxaca for a guided walking tour of this quintessential Mexican city, the "City of Jade." The visit includes the Zócalo, the cathedral, and the Santo Domingo Church. Stop at the Juárez Market to discover the local flavors and a wide variety of handicrafts for which the region is famous: pottery, textiles, ceramics, and more. Visit a chocolate factory, a regional specialty. Visit the regional history and archeology museum, the most important in the city.
DAY 5 OAXACA- SALINAS CRUZ (279 KM)

We will meet at the hotel to begin our tour to the legendary Tule Tree, a wonderful example of Oaxaca's vast natural landscape.
We will visit Teotitlán del Valle, a town famous for its wool rug making. You will see the wool carding, dyeing, and loom work. Lunch at a local restaurant.
Continue to Salina Cruz on a magnificent mountain road that will take you through mineral-like mountains, where the vegetation is mostly limited to candelabra cacti and maguey fields that dye the slopes blue and green.

DAY 6 SALINAS CRUZ - SUMIDERO CANYON (321 K) - SAN CRISTÓBAL DE LAS CASAS (86 KM)
Early departure to Chiapa de Corzo for a boat tour of Sumidero Canyon. From the Grijalva River, you can admire the magnificent cliffs, which reach an altitude of 1,000 meters and a depth of 150 meters. Lunch at a traditional restaurant near the pier.
Artisan visit to Chiapa de Corzo. In January, the "Parachicos" festival is celebrated, a symbol of Chiapa de Corzo, declared an Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2010. The craftsmanship of their costumes is renowned worldwide. You will visit workshops and shops where you will find a wide variety of handicrafts, dresses, wooden masks, and much more.
We continue to the city of San Cristóbal de las Casas, founded in 1528 by Diego de Mazariegos.

DAY 7 SAN CRISTOBAL DE LAS CASAS

Visit to the town of San Juan Chamula, with its centuries-old mystical traditions, located in the heart of Chiapas, an indigenous region that has kept intact the rites and prayers of its shamans. Next, visit Zinacantán, a place where time seems to stand still. This picturesque village belonging to the Tzotzil ethnic group has been a trading post for amber products since pre-Hispanic times. Meet the embroiderers who weave the colorful fabrics. Lunch at a local restaurant.
Visit to San Cristóbal de las Casas, named after the Dominican priest Bartolomé de Las Casas, who defended the Indians from the excesses of the settlers. Discover the Zócalo and the cathedral (16th century), whose façade is reminiscent of the Tuscan style. The Church of Santo Domingo was built between 1547 and 1560, its pink stone façade decorated with columns. The interior, adorned with beautiful gilded wood altarpieces, houses a carved pulpit that is undoubtedly the most beautiful in Mexico.

DAY 08 SAN CRISTOBAL DE LAS CASAS - PALENQUE (213 KM)

Morning departure for the Palenque region. En route, visit the Agua Azul waterfalls, one of the most spectacular natural turquoise waterfalls in Mexico. Agua Azul is also a protected national park encompassing more than 2,500 hectares of jungle and waterways. Lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, arrive in Palenque and discover the city, one of the most enchanting sites in Mexico.
DAY 09 PALENQUE-CAMPECHE (358 KM)

Visit to the Palenque archaeological site, home to some of the greatest architectural achievements of the Mayan culture. The ruins are concentrated in a clearing in the middle of the jungle, in the mountains of Chiapas. Walk through the jungle to visit the "Baño de la Reina" waterfall. Lunch at a local restaurant.
Departure for Campeche in the afternoon.
DAY 10 CAMPECHE-UXMAL (159 KM)-MÉRIDA (84 KM)

Departure to the Gulf of Mexico. Meet with the Mayan community in the village of Muna and enjoy a traditional chicken pibil meal. Visit the archaeological site of Uxmal, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its Puuc architectural style is extremely refined and elegant, decorated with mosaics.
DAY 11 MÉRIDA - CHICHÉN ITZÁ (121 KM) - PLAYA DEL CARMEN (184 KM)

Visit the ruins of Chichén Itzá. This ancient city occupies more than 300 hectares. It was founded around 540 AD by Mayan tribes arriving from the south. See the Kukulcán Pyramid, the Temple of the Warriors, the Chac Mol Tomb, and the famous sacred cenote (sacrificial site).
Discover one of the natural features of the Yucatán region: the cenote. The Mayans considered these freshwater pools sacred places, a means of communication with the gods and the underworld, and the scene of numerous ceremonies where offerings were made. There are hundreds of cenotes in the region, but this is probably one of the most beautiful. The view from the Ik Kil cenote is breathtaking, in a natural open-air setting covered in vines that descend to a clear, sacred blue pool. You will have the opportunity to swim. Lunch included.
Next, transfer to Playa del Carmen, a modern coastal resort.
